Nebula formattedtext [message #842439] Thu, 12 April 2012 05:46 Go to next message

Hello

For thoses interested in using formattedtext nebula component in their RAP application, I have proposed a patch to single source the bundle (376419)

Also because of some limitations on DateTime widget (it requires 2 DateTime control to manage Time and Date and it does not provide the way to nullify date), I have worked on porting nebula datechooser for RAP. I still need some code cleaning in order to single source this component before sharing what I have done, if there is any interest in this.

What is the best way to proceed for this kind of work with Nebula, meaning single sourcing requires some changes in code. Do I have to directly submit a patch to nebula with single sourcing refactoring ("exploded" bundle, RAP and RCP fragment) ? or similarly to some existing bundle port like PDE can I submit a patch of the ported rebula component in the RAP incubator ?

Best regards,
Arnaud

Hi Arnaud,

Good work! If the changes to the Nebula code would be acceptable for them to incorporate into their codebase, then you should encourage them to do so. Then the Nebula widget will work "out-of-the-box" with RAP and RCP. If not, then the current model for porting a project to RAP is for you to maintain a full ported version of the project in the incubator. I can nominate you as a RAP Incubator Committer if you would like to do this.

Thanks.
