Hi All,

I have a legacy component which used rose for its metamodel definition. So the metamodel files are available in .mdl files.

I am trying to migrate some part of that component to to my current product which only expects XSD to generate the EMF model.

I tried importing the mdl to .genmodel and then to exporting it to XSD . I felt the XSD generated from the two step transformation process is not the one which i wanted , also i want to avoid the two step process.

Is there any way through which i can directly get the xsd from .mdl files ? any free software available for this ?

Saurav,

There is only this two step process. I imagine this is a one time
migration, and *.mdl files are like fossils now, so I don't think
there's anything else out there to make it faster.
