Can someone help me with the following error message that I recieve when I
open up Eclipse?

Error while stopping "org.eclipse.pde.core_3.1.0".

Ben,

This error is from eclipse pde (plugin development environment). I would
suggest posting this question on the eclipse newsgroup and you can get a
better response to this question.

Nope, But I've seen some similar, and they are usually harmless.
You might try asking on the eclipse.platform mailing list, or just
open a bug. For example, see https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=102215
