Hi,
Is there any way to add a 2D or 3D animation on a GMF generated diagram editor? I'd like to create a background overlay, and have some 2D or 3D animation running in the background.

Also, when I click on a diagram node, I'd like to program a transition to a sub-node (using the GMF diagram partitioning technique), so that it goes from a node diagram, to a sub-node diagram with a 2D or 3D transition animation.

Hi,

do you mean something like GEF3D?
If yes, it should be possible as GFM is relying on GEF but I don't know the cost of it.

Or perhaps you want to have somewhat of a dynamic gif image in the background? Perhaps you can try to implement your own IFigure.
