Java/Eclipse Tools Engineer
Carrier IQ products are quickly becoming the gold standard for mobile
diagnostics, and the open source Eclipse environment is quickly becoming
the de-facto standard platform for embedded/mobile development tools.
This is a position developing Eclipse plug-ins in Java to integrate with
and extend the functionality of Carrier IQ diagnostics solutions. We’re
looking for a great Java engineer with Eclipse experience who is excited
by the promise of an integrated, open toolset for mobile embedded
development and diagnostics, and who can write a lot of code to realize
that vision.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop tools in Java based on the open source Eclipse environment
* Design and develop user interface components in SWT/JFace
* Design and develop sophisticated data analysis components
* Support and integrate with testing automation systems
* Track the Eclipse community process and align with other
Eclipse initiatives
* Represent CarrierIQ in Eclipse community forums and conferences
Job Requirements
* Strong Java development expertise
* Five (5) or more years of experience with component-based,
object-oriented design
* Commitment to shipping excellent software
* Experience using Eclipse and developing Eclipse plug-ins is
highly desirable
* Experience with wireless/telecomm protocols is a plus
(CDMA, GSM/GPRS, EDGE, UMTS, 802.11)
* Experience with embedded debugging tools and methodologies
is a plus (JTAG, ICE, etc.)
* Strong communication and technical writing skills are a plus
