Integration of Eclipse BIRT with SAP Database [message #826768] Thu, 22 March 2012 09:37 Go to next message

Hi

I would like to know whether BIRT tool can be used as business intelligence tool (replace SAP BI). I know that it can be integrated to SAP BW. we use SAP ABAP for all the reports and we don't want to use SAP BI. So I want a clarification from anyone whether we can use Eclipse BIRT instead of using SAP BI and can it be integrated to SAP R/3

Thanks in advance

I know Actuate's BIRT Designer Professional has connectors for SAP, so I
assume you can connect. If you use the java ABAP packages in a scripted
data source you should be able to access the data.
