With all the problems at Borland over support for BuilderC++, I'm
wondering if anybody here has made the move over, and is using CDT has well?
I have been moving a lot of stuff to PHP and Javascript, so Eclipse has
been ideal, but recently I started doing the C++ editing in Eclipse and
just using Builder5/6 to do the compiles ( and visual stuff :) ). This
is working well, and now all of my code is being managed via the Eclipse
CVS client.
The next step is probably - can I make/compile via Eclipse, so has
anybody already done it?

Yes, it works. I've been using Borland's free command line compiler. You
will probably need to do a standard make, not a managed make, using a
Borland make file. This could be exported from Builder if you don't want
to write one from scratch.
Since my use of Eclipse and CDT has been largely experimental up to now, I
can't say how well debugging within Eclipse works with Borland.
