Hello,
After I had problems with tptp 4.3.1, I was told to try to work with 4.4
(news://news.eclipse.org:80/f43l6v$nbv$1@build.eclipse.org), so I
downloaded and installed:
eclipse-SDK-3.3RC3-linux-gtk.tar.gz,
emf-sdo-xsd-SDK-2.3.0RC2.zip and
tptp.runtime-TPTP-4.4.0-200705310943.zip
agntctrl.linux_ia32-TPTP-4.4.0-200705310943.zip
and It finally worked.
Now, Iam back at step one, the same one i had since 4.2.. the mare
reason that I started this upgrade journey to 4.4..
I can run my application (Java Swing app) WITHOUT profiling, and it runs
perfectly. When I try to profile it (with any profiling method), my
application starts the initialization phase (where it reads files,
databases and make some calculations before it starts to load the actual
gui). I see on the status bar, at the bottom, the numbers progressing
("processed:xxxx bytes/seconds:yyyy ...."). after some time (but always
BEFORE the first window loads), nothing happens. only the "elpased time"
keeps on going, kinda like my application is waiting for something. only
its not..
Could you please help me see what is wrong with my setup here? I really
need to profile my code, and tptp suppose to be the best solution for
that, once I get it to work.
Thanks,
Shlomi

Shlomi,
Please try to profile your application in standalone (off-line) mode and
see whether you get better results. This will help us understand whether
the issue you see is related to the profiler itself or to the data
collection (Agent Controller/Workbench) framework.
To do that, you will need to set-up some environment variables and
launch your application with the special '-agentlib' Java option. More
information is available in the JVMTI Profiler readme file located at
<Agent Controller Home>\plugins\org.eclipse.tptp.javaprofiler.
HTH,
Asaf
