newbie question -- simple report [message #100258] Sun, 18 December 2005 13:55 Go to next message

I have installed BIRT 1.0.1, and have configured it to use a db2 v8.1
database. So far so good. Next, I designed a simple 2-column report.
The dataset is bound to the table. The dataset sql is a simple select
statement, selecting 2 columns from a table. The "Preview Results" option
in the dataset configuration panel yields the handful of rows I expect to
see.

When I click on the Preview tab in the report design view, this error
appears:

There are errors on the report page:
+ There are error(s) in Table:table1

The report and column headings appear, but the data columns are emtpy.

Is there a log file containing more details about the error? And what is
table1?

Thanks for the tip. Actually I feel a bit sheepish. Its obvious, now,
that I should have clicked the '+' symbol. The detailed message reveal a
problem with the jdbc drivers. A diligent search of the faq revealed that
I needed to copy the jdbc driver jars to the report viewer folder. Voila!
The report works!
