Hi folks,

I am currently trying to aggregate some information about the (imperative)
model transformations between GMF Mapping Model <-> GMF Gen Model and GMF
Gen Model <-> Java Code.

Of course I can read the code, but I would like to know if there exists some
more compact specification/overview about the transformations.

Thanks,

J

Hello Jörg,

High-level overview of transformations used in GMF + future plans to substitute
it by transformations written on more suitable languages you can find in
this paper: http://www.eclipsecon.org/summiteurope2006/presentations/ESE 2006-EclipseModelingSymposium15_GMF.pdf.
Concerning the more detailed specifications – we do not have it. If you need
to understand the logic of the transformations you probably have to dive
into the code.

Thanks Alex.

I hope you can find a suitable transformation language to describe the
transformations in the future. It's a pity that the "magical" core-part is
rather difficult to understand (maybe this is why it looks to me like magic
;-).

Cheers,
J
