Eclipse User

I cannot ignore files anymore. The context menu is greyed out in every
place where this is available: package, navigator, synchronize. I've
tried a fresh check-out, but no luck. I'm very close to reinstalling
eclipse. But is this necessary? And why on earth did this happen in the
first place?
