I tried to update Eclipse today, and there was a package available, so I
checked it and installed it. But when eclipse restarted, an error came
up. I imagine this is a simple problem to fix (uninstall the update), but
I don't recall the name of it and wouldn't know where to find it anyhow.
Perhaps the logfile will give some clue, because I can't tell what is
going on.
The following was in the log:

How did you install the new version? Did you install it in the same
location as a previous version? (Hint - that will not work)

Well, it was an update from within eclipse, not a new version. Anyhow, I
managed to fix it by deleting the entire directory and re-extracting
eclipse.
