We previously used the BIRT viewer to generate pdf reports and these showed with bookmarks down the left hand side.

We have now moved to use the apis to integrate the running of the reports in our application but the bookmarks are no longer generated.

How do I enable the generation of PDF bookmarks?

You should not have to do anything to support this other than have the
toc entry in the report. I use the following code with the attached
report and it shows my bookmarks in pdf:

Thanks for that. The code we are using is almost exactly the same, and using your code I still don't get any bookmarks with our reports.

Unhelpfully I can't download your report to see if we are missing anything there because of a security policy set at this end. Is there any difference in the way TOC entries are produced between BIRT versions 2.5 and 3.7? Most of our reports were produced under the earlier version but we are in the process of moving to 3.7 as well as using the API.

Any reports I open whether produced under version 2.5 or resaved as 3.7 show with bookmarks when I run them through eclipse, just not when run through our application.

What BIRT version are you having the issue in? I can post the report
xml in the message if that will help. You should be able to cut and
paste it.
