So I am on one part trying to test my ability to communicate to the news
group (New reader/First attempt to this group), and the other part I am
kinda stuck. I am trying to figure out how to get the CVS download in
bulk. (aka: Tar/cvs bring over)
I know from previous convo's that unless we are formal contibutor and
permissioned as such we can not have direct access. Or maybe I can just
do a pull down of the module in CVS???
Thanks!

Hi John,
This article may be helpful in explaining how to get the source and make
changes, as well as how to package an enhancement or bug fix for later
integration into the project:
http://www-128.ibm.com/developerworks/wireless/library/wi-ec lipse/
You can through the anonymous CVS connection method to download in a
read-only manner and keep up to date with the latest changes to the source
tree. In order to check changes back in you will need to submit them as a
patch to bugzilla (explained in the article) or go through one of the
existing committers, listed here:
http://www.eclipse.org/technology/commit.html#vtp
This all becomes simpler when a developer becomes promoted to a committer --
the criteria according to the Eclipse Development Process being "A Developer
who has made significant contributions to a project". Then you have your own
account and make changes as appropriate.

Eclipse->Window->Open Perspective-> CVS Repository Exploring.
Popup in CVS Repositories View -> New -> Repository Location
Host: dev.eclipse.org
Repository path: /home/tools
User: anonymous
Password: anonymous
Connection type: pserver
select: Validate connection on finish
CVS Repository view:
expand the created Repository Location
expand org.eclipse.vtp
popup on org.eclipse.vtp
Check out
you will find a project org.eclipse.vtp in your workspace
don't upload any content, but you are a provider. Popup on the project in
our workspace -> Team ->Disconnect.
