XAMPP, Debug -> 19% "Launching : waiting for XDebug session" [message #95344] Mon, 16 March 2009 18:58 Go to next message

Hello!

I read already a lot of threads about this 19%-Problem, but was not able
to solve the problem: Breakpoints are ignored. When I start debugging, the
site will appear finished in Firefox, but Eclipse still shows "Launching
newfile: (19%)", "Launching : waiting for XDebug session" and
"Synchronizing Task List (Sleeping)". With some dlls even Apache crashes...

Installed: XAMPP 1.7, PDT 2.0 with Eclipse 3.4.1 with
- Default PHP, newest Snapshot, older Snapshot
- Default php.dll, newest php.dll
OS: Vista Home Premium 64bit, SP1
Browser: Firefox 3.0.7

Configuration Check:
- [XDebug] on / [Zend] off in "E:\xampp\apache\bin\php.ini" AND
"E:\xampp\php\php.ini"
- Path mapping:
- Apache Root = E:\xampp\htdocs
- Workspace = E:\xampp\htdocs
- Mapping: Tried with None or "Path on Server" = "\Test", "Path in File
System" = "E:\xampp\htdocs\Test"

Is this a known Problem with a known solution out there? ... im catching
this dog for some hours now...

Thanks for any help!
Bruno

I must add this very important point: I think, that all settings are
correct at the point Apache crashes! So the problem perhaps has nothing to
do with wrong settings in php.ini or path mapping, but with "Vista 64bit"!
and the used php.dll: At the point Apache crashes I should leave all
settings untouched and start experimenting with the php.dll ...

Correct?

Confirmed!!! This is an apache/php-Problem, not a Settings-Problem:
Installed all on my old XP SP3 -> Same Settings are working fine!

ngh... sorry ... this thread belongs to the apache-Forum, not here... (but
if someone knows the dlls/snapshots/versions needed for Vista64bit I'm
glad too :) )

This is a known problem between apache, php and xdebug on vista and has been noted on the xdebug
mailing list. Someone has presented a solution, but the solution was a code change and compiling of
the code yourself. I don't know of any prebuilt solution.

Only real solution at this time is not to use Vista.
