I've posted some leading questions on my blog concerning the scope of
JSR 311 - JAX-RS: The Java API for RESTful Web Services:

And also posted some follow-ups to the dev@jsr311 mailing list.

I'm curious if anyone in the equinox space is interested in this area,
since equinox now has a web-serving face.

Hi Patrick,

I'd have to double-check however I think that the CDDL license is fine to
use with Eclipse projects also.
For user bundles they can of course use whatever EE they like and JSR311
seems to be using annotations so Java 5 it is. That said, there are a wide
variety of devices that are "servers" in the truest sense that set the VM
bar pretty low. e.g. many servers are not full blown app servers. We try to
stick to Foundation 1.1 for this reason.

Vaguely related, but nonetheless... I've noticed Abdera has a 1.4.2 port
now. When I have time I'd like to see how close that is to running on
Foundation 1.1. I wonder if anyone has tried integrating that work with the
OSGi Http Service? I can think of some uses for this in the provisioning
stuff we're doing.
