Somewhere during the transition from 3.0 to 3.1 hovering stopped to
work for me, i.e. the mouse pointer over an error does not display
the error message anymore, nor the java doc for a method etc...
I am using Version: 3.1.0, Build id: I20050627-1435 on Windows XP.
When opening the same workspace as another user hovering works fine.
Therefore, I have reset all my preferences to the defaults, but this
does not help. Also deleting and unpacking the eclipse ZIP does not
change anything. I also killed all other programs, e.g. LogiTray for
the mouse, autohotkey, ... nothing helped.
Where does eclipse store my preferences? I want to nuke them!
Robert.

No, they do not work with a new workspace,
but it works when I open the same workspace
with the same eclipse, but loggeding as another
user.

What are the native ones?
Preferences > Java > Editor > Hovers?

I finally found the source of my problem.
Tweak UI > Mouse > Hover > Hover sensitivity: 0
Setting it to values greater than 0 helps a lot :-/
Unfortunately hovering was working for other programs
also when it was set to 0 ... but those probably use
their own mechanism.
Sorry for the noise.
