Hi,
I'm using Eclipse 2.1.2 GTK with CDT 1.2 M1a on RH Linux 7.3 with java
1.4.2 and am having the following problem. When I try to create a new
file by selecting New->File from the menu or by right clicking on a
directory in the C/C++ Projects or Navigator Views the entire system
hangs. The Dialog box pops up and I can enter the filename without any
problem and select the directory but when I click on select it just
wanders off chewing up 99% of my cpu cycles split between java and X.
I can click on cancel once and then that button greys out but doesn't
do anything. Clicking on the little x in the top right gives me an
error saying the "Wizard cannot be closed due to an active operation.
You must cancel the operation before you can close the wizard." But
as I said the cancel button doesn't work.
Currently the only way to stop it is to kill the java process that has
run away, which shuts down the entire eclipse platform. I also had this
problem with CDT 1.1.
Has anyone else had this problem or does it seem to be a configuration
issue on my system? PR 48755 seems to indicate that the wizard works
for others since that PR was commenting on the functionality navigating
the directory structure. Any suggestions? Thanks.
- Tom
