Simple project sharing without CVS [message #91624] |

Hello:
We want to share a project, but just for file locking (no CVS yet). We want
to coordinate file changes between small groups of developers, and CVS (our
NT version) lacks support for file locking, like SourceSafe checkin/checkout
feature. We want to be able to "lock" a file while it is being edited by one
programmer, and release it after saving/closing it.
It seems that Eclipse editors (Java, Text and others) are not locking files
while editing, this creates a problem because two programmers may be working
on the same file.
Is there a simple workaround for this?
Best regards,
Martin

First, working in parallen and then merging the results is the default way
to work with CVS.

Second, you can enable Edits for the project. I didn't use that myself
but comes closest to what you need.
