Merge Method Invocation Details View and Call Tree View into one [message #91530] Thu, 18 January 2007 22:29 Go to next message

Hi,

During analyzing call tree, I found it' helpful if method invocation details
are displayed when I select one method in call tree. Is it possible to add
method invocation details into call tree?

Hi,

Are you talking about the UML diagrams when you say 'call trees'? (i.e.
the object/class/thread interaction view) If you're referring to the
execution statistics or execution flow views, there is a way to switch to
the method invocation details by right clicking on the method and
selecting that view from its context menu.

If you're referring to the UML diagrams, you can open an ehancement for us
to track this work.

Hi,

The "call tree" is the one in "Call Tree" Tab in Execution Summary View in
TPTP 4.3. My idea is to put all in "Call Tree" tab and "Method Invocation
Details" tab together into one.

Thanks!

Cliff,
I like the idea of a consolidated Call Tree and Method Invocation in
a single view. My thoughts were to do a "Directed Graph" of the Method
invocation to be shown besides the Call Tree.

The TPTP project has created a wiki sandbox to have such ideas discussed
and explored and seek help in the development. I will post this entry
there.
