The second milestone for Virgo Bondi (3.5.0) is available for download [1] with updated release notes[2].

New for this milestone

  • split Nano distribution in two to cover more user use-cases
  • hot-deployment now available for Nano too
  • revised directory layout
  • many bugfixes

Congratulations to the team!

After first look at the documentation: "Virgo Nano Full" is a bit of a mouthful Smile Why don't you name it "Virgo Micro" instead?

+1 on Virgo Micro. You should see Virgo Pico. But you can't, cause it's really tiny.

Note that we're working on removing as many dependencies from the Virgo Tooling as possible so you should see everything shrinking.

I noticed after downloading, extracting and attempting to run 3.5.0.M02, I get the following error:
=====
C:\virgo\virgo-tomcat-server-3.5.0.M02\bin>startup
C:\virgo\VIRGO-~1.M02\bin\jmxPermissions.vbs(23, 2) SWbemServicesEx: Not found

Error: Access file not found: C:\virgo\VIRGO-~1.M02\config\org.eclipse.virgo.kernel.jmxremote.access.properties
=====
If I create a symlink ("junction" on Windows) called "config" that points to "configuration", everything launches fine.

FYI, created https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=371758 to track this.

I think error comes from dmk.bat line 59:
set CONFIG_DIR=%KERNEL_HOME%\config

I manually edit the line becoming:
set CONFIG_DIR=%KERNEL_HOME%\configuration
