Eclipsers,
I am building a plugin that is likely to become a proprietary Rich Client
Program based on Eclipse.
Where can I learn, copy and mutate code from, for a proprietary
development?
Details follow:
My employer will probably not allow BSD type copyright notices, unless the
BSD code use will be a huge advantage (we are talking enormous advantage).
GPL style licensing is even less likely. The legal department will get
involved at a later stage, I just do not want to do anything at this early
stage that will cause copyright concerns. I am unsure of the terms of the
EPL, it must allow commercial rich client programs that are plugins that
are not themselves open source, though
http://www.eclipse.org/legal/epl-v10.html 3 iv) seems to say otherwise,
seems almost GPL like (I may well be wrong).

1/Online docs and apis:
http://help.eclipse.org/help31/index.jsp?topic=/org.eclipse. platform.doc.isv/reference/api/index.html.
2/Presumably the example applications and wizard generated code.
3/Get some ideas from articles on the web (but maybe not exact code?)
http://www.eclipsecon.org/2005/ .
4/There is some in house code I will get in due course.
Are there public domain plugins/rich client programs to 'steal' from?
(I could not find a search by licence in
http://www.eclipseplugincentral.com/)
I just need relevent information for a small fee hopefully zero, but it
might amount to the price of a book, and may even be a book.
I am currently trying to get a leaf in a tree to open up a details window,
I am currently working from plugin wizard generated code to get to grips
with things and have so far I have just altered the generated tree to be a
view of part of my data.
My application is likely to have a large tree (or trees) with details
displayed in another component.
I am just starting, and any directions would be appreciated.
Thank you for your time,
Turloch
