Hi!
What is supposed to happen in eclipse/WTP/WST when their
are plugins that has registrered to provide support for the same
content type ?
At the moment it just seem to choose one of them, even though
I would like to have the choice (similar to "Open with")

In general, I think, the "open with..." approach is being addressed
by base team.
You might want to read/follow https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=37668
Just out of curiosity, what are the conflicts you are seeing or anticipating? (There's different
types of conflicts, some may be handled automatically, some with user intervention,
some may be more problematic).

well what I saw from my small tests where just that one of them were
chosen,
the rest ignored.
I would prefer I get something like a "Open With..." option that were named
Content-Type and if there were conflicting "providers" I would get the
chance to choose
what I wanted as default and per case.
Another issue I think is important is to be able to see what plugin
provides the functionallity.
Like is it the standard xml content-type, the jbosside content-type, the
ant xml editor or the hibernate content-type
that is driving this file I have open ? I can't decide except if I know
some of the differences which
might not be visible upfront.
This is actually also an issue for a lot of other items like wizards,
menus etc.
Would be great to hava a toggle button that added the plugin.id for a
certain contribution in the
status line or tooltip for this stuff - would make life much easier as a
developer and bug-reporter ,)

I just saw one win over the other nothing else.

Your first comment would be a good feature request.
You or others interested in this topic should (also) read and comment on
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=89195
and see if the discussion there is heading in the direction that will solve
some of this conflict for use-cases you are aware of.
Thanks
