We want to build a generic interface to report designs (just like the
DynamicParms app does), but it seems like this is a natural extension to
the report viewer app distributed with BIRT. Any insight very much
appreciated as it will influence our implementation here. Thanks!

Pete,

Dynamic parameters are already built into the designer, and the Viewer
servlet will have this capability exposed shortly (Within the 2.0
timeframe).
We have an example posted that shows how to do this in 1.0.1
programatically.

2.0 will make this much easier.
