Hi,
I get some trouble with the installation of plugins not using the Update
Manager. After extracting Eclipse 3.1, I can easily add some plugins by
unzipping them in the same directory, but once I have launched Eclipse one
after that, if I try to install one more plugin the same way, it doesn't
appear in "Software Updates/Manage Configuration".
Am I doing something wrong ? and/or is there a way to force Eclipse to
rescan its directory for new plugins ?
Thanx in advance,
Patrick

I am new to this and the words I write here are not from experience but,=
I =
did read that Eclipse keeps a cache of plug-in data and that some plug-i=
ns =
require that Eclipse be started with the "-clear" command line option to=
=
empty the cache before they will be correctly detected. The article =
(which I can't put my hands on right now) seemed to feel that after =
instaling, updating or reconfiguring any plug-in you should start Eclips=
e =
once with the clear option.
Hope that helps!

Run eclipse.exe with the -clean command-line option to get it to rescan.
That might help.
