Hello,
If I use the Help->Software Updates->Find and Install... and try to install
ANY new plugin the download starts but then after a short time the network
connection freezes followed by freezing Eclipse.
If I deactivate the network connection and activate it again the
installation almost continues but sometimes an error message appears:
Problem Occured
Update operation has failed
and I am only able to click OK and then the installation failed.
I use WindowsXP Professional and
Eclipse Version: 3.1.0, Build id: I20050627-1435
Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance!

Hello Eric,
Yes I did create a bugreport under http://bugs.eclipse.org.
The No. of this bug is 103776, so you can watch it, hope this helps!
By the way, one needs the update manager not only for updating. I need it to
install new plugins. So what you said the update manager is needed seldomly
is not that correct ;-)
Of course one can download the compressed files and decompress into the
features/plugin folder manually, but the more comfortable way is using the
update manager, or not?
best regards
