Hello, 
 
Is there an easy way to record reference (not attribute) changes in
the command stack and thus have an undo redo and dirty
functionality? 
 
I have an object BusinessFlow that contains a (0..*) reference to an
Actor object. I use this list as the input to a table viewer, so any
changes to the emf reference list below will be done via the table: 
 
        gridTableViewer.setInput(input.getActors()); 
        ((EObjectContainmentEList<Actor>)
input.getActors()).add(ConceptualFactoryImpl.eINSTANCE.createActor());
<-- how to record reference changes to the stack while adding /
removing list members?

While it is very easy to set property descriptors via a SetCommand
in EMF and record any programmatic changes in the model in the
undo/redo stack, how can we achieve this for a reference? Looping
thorough te detailed property descriptors is not the answer as this
is done only for attributes....

I'm not sure I follow.  You already get undo/redo with commands. 
You'd be best to use notification to listen for changes; an
EContentAdapter can be used to listen to everything.

You can use commands to do anything. Even multi-valued references
can be supported as properties so while you don't have to use those
for changes, you can look at what commands they use and do that
directly. (E.g., use Add/Remove/Move/SetCommand.

According to my debugging findings in EMF, I think the way I will
proceed will be to: 
 
1) Get the editing domain: 
<big><big>EditingDomain
editingDomain =
AdapterFactoryEditingDomain.getEditingDomainFor((ActorImpl)
element);</big></big> 
 
2) execute an AddCommand on the owner for that reference feature 
editingDomain.getCommandStack().execute(CreateChildCommand.create(editingDomain,
#####BusinessFlowInstance owner####, ####EReferenceImpl feature
of the actors#####, #### the new instance I want to add to the
actor list#####); 
 
For certain this is viable since I have been able to see the command
via the undo / redo stack during debug after I added the node via
the standard create child command in the EMF tree. 
 
 
However, I have on big problem with getting the
EReferenceImpl from the BusinessFlow object so I am missing
something. 
In my detail property descriptors I am failing to see the
EReferenceImpl object for the actors feature. 
 
I access my property descriptors for the BusinessFlow object as
follows: 
ArrayList<IItemPropertyDescriptor>
detailPropertyDescriptors =
(ArrayList<IItemPropertyDescriptor>)
adapterFactoryItemDelegator.getPropertyDescriptors((BusinessFlowImpl)input); 
 
... and in the debug window I am unable to see the EReferenceImpl
for the "actors" feature.

I tried for other nodes in the model and have the same result as
above. Originally I thought that the "Children" and "Create Child"
settings in my genModel were the cause (for some references, they
are true, others are set to false), however in all cases when

descriptor list. 
 
Do you have any idea how to get the ERefenceImpl feature?

Found my problem: 
 
"actors" reference property type must be set to "Editable" so it may
appear in the property descriptor list. Before it was set to "None".
