3.0.x had, but the FTP plugin simply seems flakey.

The CVS plugin is great, no problems there... I know FTP as a protocol
has fallen out of favour, but hey, some of us don't have the luxury of
using alternatives :(
Is there any hope for me?
Am I doomed in my quest for working FTP in 3.1?

I have been able to successfully synchronize with FTP only after
creating a new workspace with no previous FTP sync. After the first time
it will not work, and I can't find the configuration that it's trying to
use either.
