Hi there,
I recently started using Indigo (previously on Helios), and noticed that changes to files in "WebContent" and Java source is not being picked up by Tomcat.
I find that I am having to stop Tomcat, do a "Clean" on the server, and then restart it for changes to be picked up.
This is obviously very time-consuming, as in the previous version of Eclipse (Helios), everytime a change was made to "WebContent", no restart of Tomcat was required. And if Java source was changed, a simple server restart would almost always suffice.
But in Indigo, I am having to do a "clean" on the server everytime.
A colleague of mine is also experiencing the same problem. Except I'm using Windows Xp, and he's using a Mac.
We are using Tomcat v6.0.
Before anyone mentions, we have got the Automatically publish when resources change option selected in the server publishing options.
Can anyone help or advise on this please?
Many thanks.

This is a problem that a number of people have reported, but so far the
cause of the problem has not been found. Not much has changed in the
Tomcat plug-ins, so the cause seems likely to be outside of the Tomcat
plug-ins.
I have created Bug 365748[1] to collect information on this problem to
hopefully help track down the cause. Add yourself as a CC and supply
what information you can for the 4 items listed. In the near future I
will be updating the bug to add info about how to enable logging
(internally it's called tracing) and will likely provide custom versions
of some plug-ins that include additional logging that will hopefully
provide some useful clues.
Cheers,
Larry
