Hi

Is there a way to "Desynchronize Workspace" ?

It seems that once a "Synchronize Workspace" has been performed, all
subsequent activities occur a massive synchronization maintenance overhead.

I'm looking for a "Synchronize Automatically" counterpart to "Build
Automatically".

At present, I just have to close Eclipse and start again, since
cancelling "Synchronize" jobs seems to be ineffective.

Regards

There is no such thing like "desynchronize", you can try close synchronize view or launch cvs/svn synchronization to release resource change hadnlers.

Recently we done some changes in synchronize implementation that should improve performance of handling resource change events. You can try to install egit from our nightly build repository (it is important that version you are about to install is at least from 3rd November 2011) to see if this improvements solves yours problem
