Hi folks,
I want to set up a functioning GMF SDK, i.e. for debugging I need to be able
to import the GMF runtime plugins as source plugins. I can't seem to get it
working. Here are the approaches I tried:
- Install GMF 1.0.2 release from as described on
http://download.eclipse.org/modeling/gmf/downloads/drops/R-1 .0.2-200610271200/index.php ,
with all the prerequisites described there. I installed the SDK package and
the examples.
The result is that I get a GMF installation which seems to be incomplete,
e.g. it does not have a New GMF Project wizard, it does not have the editors
for .gmfmap and .gmfgen files - the standard text editor is used for them.
Also no context menu entries etc. No chance to get the tutorial working.
- Get GMF with all the prerequisites from the Callisto update site. This
gets me a functioning GMF installation, but of course only the runtime. I
made a change to the tutorial and the generated code throws an exception
from withing the GMF runtime classes. I would like to debug, but I can't, I
don't have an SDK version installed.
- Install the GMF 1.0
http://download.eclipse.org/modeling/gmf/downloads/drops/R-1 .0-200606271200/index.php
which I took to be identical with the Callisto release. Installed the SDK
and examples.
Again the missing wizards, editors etc. No chance to do any debugging.
Can anybody tell me what I am missing?
Thanks,
Norbert

I don't get the source when use Calisto either.
Download GEF, EMF, EMFT, and GMF directly from their project web page.
For each choose the sdk version.
These are all the plugins you need to develop using GMF 1.0.1
eclipse-SDK-3.2-linux-gtk.tar.gz emft-validation-SDK-1.0.0RC6.zip
emft-ocl-SDK-1.0.0RC6.zip GEF-ALL-3.2.zip
emft-query-SDK-1.0.0RC6.zip GMF-sdk-1.0.zip
emft-transaction-SDK-1.0.0RC6.zip

Thanks, vlad, it sure works now.
Why did I overlook the additional dependencies on the download page?
Btw, the download links in the "Requirements" section are all broken. Well I
managed to find them with a little patience anyway.
Thanks again,
Norbert
