Hi all!

Eclipse has a great feature: import and export the preferences.
Let say we work in big team and one member is updating the preferences.
He should export the preference file and all other member of team should
import it.
But the question if exist the options to live update / automatic import
of the Eclipse preferences file.
I mean if I can somehow to define the preference file path and eclipse
will check it using live update mechanism.

It will help a lot to work in the big team with Eclipse 

Best regards,
Michael

That sounds as if it would be a pretty simple plugin to implement. It
involves using the Eclipse API for exporting/importing preferences,
along with using the FTP/WebDAV plugin or some other publishing
mechanism (maybe even SCM?), and then a simple UI to configure and
invoke it.

I searched at http://www.eclipse-plugins.info and didn't find anything
like this. If someone wanted to get started with plugin development,
this would be a good candidate...
