Davis,

I just tried with anonymous and it works for me.
It didnt require a password. Which version are you trying to download?

Hi Jason,

I managed to checkout, actually the page
( http://www.eclipse.org/birt/frameizer.php?page=http://dev.ec lipse.org/viewcvs/index.cgi
} was missleading. I gave /cvsroot/birt instead of /home/birt. This I
found in another page.

However I am getting the following error in the midst of checkout out the
whole build version 2.0. I haven't build yet to see if any dependent files
are missing.

source/org.eclipse.birt.tests.regression.data/test/plugins/o rg.eclipse.birt.report.data.oda.jdbc_1.0.0
cvs checkout: Updating

Davis,
Which version are you trying to checkout?
Look at
http://www.eclipse.org/birt/index.php?page=build/build_instr .html
Remeber to set the configuration in
"Configuring Your Eclipse Workbench".
Judging from the error message it doesnt appear that you are getting that
far.
Can you browse the CVS repository?

Hi Jason,

Now I managed to checkout the project following the page given by you
below. I hope the BIRT project must have build automatically because no
error or message. however, I am getting the following error while
"preparing the viewer". I can browse the CVS, I am using eclipse 3.1 and
java 1.4.2.

Please advise me what could be the cause.

Hi Jason,

I've posted this question in the news group as separate subject, but no
body seems to be replying, hence I am writing personnaly.

I succeeded checkout the project and am trying to build it, but I got some
validation error in org.eclipse.birt.data/BuildData.xml file. I looked the
content of this file as pasted below, but doesn't make sense to me, it
refers jasperReport DTD file instead of build format. Could you please let
me know if this is correct ?. Are we using jasperReport in the BIRT
project in any ways, other than in convertors ?.
