CVS - cvsignore not working! [message #78820] Tue, 22 July 2003 19:10 Go to next message

OK, now it's stopped working entirely, and I can't get it fixed. I've
tried re-installing Eclipse, executing under 1.4.1 and 1.4.2, changing
my workspace (to discard unwanted meta-data). Oddly, the "Add to
cvsignore" option was available for a while, but when I selected it, I
recieved an "Operation not supported" dialog box.

What the heck is going on? I must say that this is rather frustrating.
Eclipse 2.1.1 under 1.4.1_02 and 1.4.2 and Red Hat 9.0 and cvs-1.11.2-10
(not sure if eclipse has external cvs dependancies.)

Please advise if this is not the right place to report this.

Keep in mind that the action is only available for files which are not
yet under CVS control.
You better ask on eclipse.platform since CVS is provided by the platform
and not JDT

I had problems like this but it turned out that it was caused by the
file/directory having been added to CVS "without me knowing it" :-) I
discovered it by browsing through the CVS generated meta-data (in the
CVS directories).
