So, first, I propose to make a list of posible plugins and things to work
on:
- Standard J2EE Project Natures:
- EAR Project.
- EJB Project.
- WEB Project.
- Deployment Descriptor Visual Views (or Editors)
- XML Editor
- Design & Source view
- Outline
- JSP & HTML Editor:
- Code completion
- Native Debugging
- Preview
- Design mode (using gef)
- Server launcher view:
- List of server configurations
- Posibility to select and create new server configurations
- It should reflect the state of each one configured (stoped, launched,
running, etc.)
- Various Wizards (ejb and jsp creation, etc)
I think that the j2ee module should be xdoclet based, because is the best
way (open source, easy to mantain, etc.)
P.D: I had to resend this post :(

Not sure of licensing but I noticed the MyEclipseIDE XML editor is
SolarEclipse or based on it!! Have a look in the MyEclipseIDE plugins
directory.
