Hello,

How to use Eclipse editor for developing JSP/HTML pages? Will it highlight
the sytax? Is there a plug-in?

Thanks!

Take a look at MyEclipse Enterprise Workbench. This is a suite of plugins
that extend Eclipse 2.1+ to support full J2EE development. The MyEclipse
WebTools include a JSP editor that is quickly approaching the quality and
feature richness of WSAD. MyEclipse goes beyond WSAD to provide the first
native JSP source level debugger for Weblogic 7 & 8, Tomcat5, BEJY, and
others in the works. Also, JSP/HTML preview modes have recently been added.

BTW: I didn't find that particular nice: I wanted to test MyEclipseIDE
under linux and this 'feature' prevented me to do so, as it depends on
internal API in the win32 parts of SWT/UI/whatever.

Yes, I'm aware that there should be a linux port of this. Anyway, it
would be nice if you could make this 'preview' feature optional, so
that I could use my normal webbrowser to access tomcat...

Thanks anyway, this looks promising!

As you discovered the MyEclipse Windows edition will not run on Linux. The
upcoming Linux EA release will not suffer this problem. We have 2 solutions
for providing preview mode for Linux and have not yet decided which to go
with. Our preferred solution is the Mozilla component that will be part of
E3. While the M2 plan called for inclusion of this component I didn't see
mention of it in the release notes.
