hi,
I got some strange behavior from birt 3.7. Perhaps different versions have some problem but didn't tested.
When I create a Report in doc-Format with a font like Bitstream Vera Sans or own Font the document didn't use the correct font. Word shows the correct font in quotation marks but not using it. If I use Fonts like Arial or Papyrus, there is no problem. Also birt use the correct font, when i create the same report in pdf.

does anyone know what's wrong?

regards
Michael

at least i know where's the different between the fonts.
Fonts in the TrueType-flavoured OpenType-format works, but real True Type Fonts get the quotation marks and aren't used.

But in the end...Why this behavior of Birt?

This may be a bug in the word emitter. Can you open a bugzilla entry?
