Hello,

i am new with eclipse. I have an old applet project developed, for
compatibility reasons under jdk 1.1.8 on Linux.
Now i have installed eclipse 2.1.1 .
All my source files are on the right place and i can build programs with
Sun jave 2 1.4.2
I like now to activate jdk 1.1.8 but under
Window preferences java compiler compliance i can activate for compiler
level only 1.3 and 1.4.
My problem is that parts of my sources are only 1.1 compatible and the
earlies source compatibility i can set is 1.3

Under windows preferences editor installed_jre i can't add a
Standard 1.1 VM
only a
standard vm (this is the only possibe selction)
but with this seting my jdk1.1.8 was not recognized in
/usr/lib/jdk1.1.8

I am working with Linux Suse 9.0

My idea is to develop my applet with two developement trees :
1. compytible to 1.1.8 (for older browsers, without plugin)
2. 1.4 or 1.5 for the latest revision junkies with latest plugin installed.

Thanks for any hint.

Thanks

Markus Greim
