Sorry, but I have already logged this question in the newcomer forum;
after reflexion I think this one is the good place:
I have installed Eclipse (3.1) on a Sun Solaris server in order to allow
several users to run it simultaneously.
On the same server I have also installed Tomcat (5.5.7), and the Sysdeo
plugin.
Case 1 - When I am logged with the user to install Eclipse, I am able to
declare a Tomcat Server and to start and stop it.
Case 2 - When I am logged with a user different from the one used for the
installation, I have the following error when I try to create a Tomcat
Server: "Could not save the TOMCAT server configuration: null" (no way to
find any trace in log file).
In addition, a directory "Servers" is create in the workspace, but when I
compare with the first case, I can notice that:
- the file "Tomcat v5.5 Server.server" is missing - there is an other
directory "Tomcat v5.5 Server @ localhost-config" which has been created,
but it is empty. Could anyone help me to solve this problem?
Thanks.

This forum is related to Web Tools Project (WTP) at:
http://www.eclipse.org/webtools/ and your question seems to be related
to Sysdeo right? I am sure you will find more usefull information at
Sysdeo web.

My guess is that other users don't have read write rights to the tomcat
install directory, so either each user will have to install his own
tomcat to play with it, or "chmod" the tomcat directory
hope this help
hicham.

Chemi, thanks for your help. It was also my first idea, but I realized
that creating a server is done previously touse the Sysdeo plug-in (so far
I suppose), then the missing file is referencing
org.eclipse.jst.server.tomcat. ... packages which are delivered with the
Eclipse Web Tool platform, not with Sysdeo.
So far I have also logged the question on the Sysdeo site.
If you have any other idea your are welcome.
Best regards.
