Is it possible to use BIRT to generate reports based upon what is in a SVN? If not, would you direct me to where I would learn more?

Otherwise, what would be the strategy / architecture for exposing SVN as a data source?

We do not have a native driver for SVN but I would think you could use a
scripted data source and some Java SVN library like:

For example scripted data source look at:
