Eclipse IDE for Java Developers
Version: Indigo Release
Build id: 20110615-0604

Hi

How to remove a plugin? In Help --> About Eclipse --> Installation Details --> Plug-ins I can see a lot of plugins and many of them I want to *get* *rid* *of*.

The instructions here: [You cannot use links until you have posted more than 5 messages.] wiki.eclipse.org/FAQ_How_do_I_remove_a_plug-in%3F do not work for me because in Help --> About Eclipse --> Installation Details --> Installed Software I only have "Eclipse IDE for Java Developers".

Thanks!

Hi

If you are using a plain distribution, you should not remove plugins as
there are no superfluous plugins in these packages - everything that's
in there is required as a dependency in some way. P2 takes care of that
when assembling the distributions.

If you need a different - smaller - feature set, I suggest starting
with a smaller base package and then add the stuff you want. The java
developer package is not exactly the smallest base package to start
with.

But I think I installed those Maven plugins myself... now I'd like to remove them.

If you really _installed_ them (installing is _not_ copying them to the
plugins directory), then you are able to uninstall them by either, well,
uninstalling them or by revertigng back to the previous state in the
installation history.

If you just unzipped, you are out of luck.
