Where can I specify JDBC Driver? [message #75979] Tue, 22 February 2005 16:51 Go to next message

Hello!

I am using WTP 1.0M2 on Eclipse3.1M5 and I would like to create a new
database connection via the "Server" view and the "New Connection" wizard.

In the wizard I can see different database managers and the JDBC driver
combo shows "Other".

How can I add a JDBC driver file and where do I need to copy the JAR so
that it shows up in the wizard?

Thanks,
Thomas

Hi Thomas,

I had the same problem. You have just to enlarge the popup window, and
the missing fields will appear !
It seems that the default size of the popup windows is too small, and
some fields are not displayed :(

Sylvain

Thomas and Sylvain,

I am not seeing the default wizard dialog sizing problem in the latest M3
build. Could you send me a screenshot?

Thomas,

If you would like to add a new JDBC Driver to the Wizard for certain
database, you can take a look for the example in the White Paper for RDB.

Under contributing a new JDBC Driver:

http://www.eclipse.org/webtools/wst/components/rdb/Data%20To ols%20Open%20Source%20Overview%20for%20Eclipse%20database%20 Developer.html

If you prefer to use your JDBC driver without any further
work/contribution, You can select "Other" driver and just make sure you
have the correct JDBC class name and URL, it should just connect.
