GMF synchronization with XTEXT2 [message #716416] Wed, 17 August 2011 11:13 Go to next message

Hi!

I am working with XTEXT2 on Helios and GMF-Tooling 2.4 (DEV-Snapshot).
I am trying to synchronize the textual representation of my DSL and the GMF-editor based on the same ecore-File. Both are working well individually, but I don't know how to synchronize them, as was shown in gmf-Example shipped with XTEXT1. This example doesn't work with XTEXT2, as I assume, among others reasons, due to rewritten node model.
Has anyone ported the example to XTEXT2 or knows how I can do this?
Is there any other way to synchronize both representations?

Regards

Vladimir

Hi,

http://www.eclipse.org/Xtext/documentation/2_0_0/210-emf-integration.php#gmf_integration - although outdated - does not help?

Hi Christian,

thanks for the very fast reply.
I used the mentioned document to make my first steps in this area. Stage 1 is working good, but it is basically not bounded to any eclipse/xtext/gmf version. Another two stages are based on xtext1, if I can follow it correctly. I have had problems with antrlParser, node-tree and a couple of other things, as I tried to implement it straight forward.

Regards

Vladimir

We did not ship the Xtext/GMF example with Xtext2 as GMF Tooling left
the release train and GMF Runtime had a serious bug in a late RC no one
reacted on. Both issues seem to be fixed in the meantime.

Nevertheless, the updated code is still in the Xtext repository.
git://git.eclipse.org/gitroot/tmf/org.eclipse.xtext.git
examples/org.eclipse.xtext.xtext.ui.examples/contents

Note that in the meantime other solutions of Xtext / GMF integration
evolved, e.g. in the YAKINDU project (search this list for more info).
