Hi,
there has been some discussion going on about WTP 1.5 not being able to
run within Eclipse 3.3 because e.g. the Require-Bundle entry for
org.eclipse.wst.server.core lists
"org.eclipse.core.runtime;bundle-version="[3.2.0,3.3.0*)*", i.e. the
required version must be lower than 3.3.0.
Is it somehow possible to get OSGI to explicitly ignore such a version
incompatibility? There is bug 7381 "Update Manager should allow to
ignore configuration errors when installing new feature"
<https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=78381> asking for that,
but maybe there already exists some way to achieve the same and no-one
yet bothered to comment it on the bug?
For anyone else finding this a useful enhancement, please be so kind to
cast your vote on the bug. It's really a pity that WTP can't even be
tried on Eclipse 3.3.
Thanks,
J

OK, did that: https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=155002
Thanks for the hint,
Jörg
