Is it possible to select by type (yes) and then delete particular
ASMModelElement instances from an ASMModel instance within Java (I suppose
yes since the standard eclipse .ecore editor can do so...)?

There is no abstract delete() method in ASMModelElement, and no
implementation in ASMEMFModelElement or ASMMDRModelElement.

However, it is possible to delete elements from EMF or MDR models.
Please, do not hesitate to contribute a delete() method.
