i have installed eclipse 2.1.2 and ve into my fedora core 1 linux, is
very great!! :-)
since now i have worked with netbeans, is good but i think eclipse/ve is
better... i can control the source generated more simply.
however, my question is it:
i use both windows at work and linux at home for devel a my application
and learn java. At work all work fine and it's very fast but at home
with my linux is very slowly... netbeans and sunOne studio is a lot of
speedy than it! i'm don't know eclipse well, i work with it since fey
days, i have tried 3.0M5 but ve don't work!! i have tried to update with
stream integrate build to update my platform (i mean it's an update!
:-] ).
i don't want to spent a lot of time to wait a window sync!!! but i want
to work with eclipse!!! :-))
who can tell me more???

my pc is a P550 with 512Mb ram.....

VE can not be installed on Eclipse R3.0. Currently it just works on
Eclipse R2.1.2. There are some disscussion threads about this.

Now, why Eclipse is slowler on Linux? I don't know but if you are using
GTK version, move to Motif one. It is a little bit ugly but it is
faster. There is a bug opened against GTK version because its performance:

https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=37683

Hope this helps,
