demo application integrating JSP/JSTL, Struts... [message #71335] Wed, 02 August 2006 23:05 Go to next message

Hi all,

I read the Timing section of the RSP proposal at
http://www.eclipse.org/proposals/rsp/ and found out that a demo
application integrating JSP/JSTL, Struts and Wicket would be available
last July. We are very interested in employing Struts in server-side.
Does anyone know as to where we can download the demo? Thanks a lot.

The eclipse.technology newsgroup would probably be a better place to ask
RSP related questions.

Thanks Erkki, I thought that the demo was for the Equinox Incubator
project. There is a similar demo on
http://www.eclipsezone.com/eclipse/forums/t64085.html, but the demo code
seems to be old and doesn't work with latest server-side builds. Anyway I
will post to the other new group.

I think that demo is getting updated but in the meantime you can see the
"struts-examples" run in the server-side environment here. (
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=140430 )

There are some patches mentioned to be used to make jsp's available. Is
this still needed, or are the bride-bundles on the equinox-site already
"jsp-enabled"?

Hi Johannes,

No equinox framework patches are needed.
e.g. all of the various bridge bundles will support the use of
org.eclipse.equinox.http.jsp.
The instructions in comment 24 should do the trick.

Hi Simon,

great! got it all working with Jetty under Eclipse and on the tomcat.

I tried to modify the config.ini to start all the bundles automatically,
but that didn't work. When I start the bridge with the default
config.ini and then start all the rest from the console, the examples
work fine. When I try and put all the needed bundles in the config.ini
it seems that they are all started without problem (as they are all
marked "active"), bun the examples won't run (tomcat can find
/bridge/jsp-examples).
