Hi,

I noticed that UML2TOOLS has ceased developing and then found the
Papyrus project. Is the later of the successor of the former? Does
papyrus support code generation (e.g. to Java)?

Regards,
Warren Tang

Hi Warren,

For UML to Java generation have a look to

Thanks for the link but that's not my purpose. I have been searching for
an open source UML 2 tool. I just want to know the intent of the Papyrus
project - the current state and the future plans.

Being a member gives you access to documentation, and membership is free.
But I may understand that you want only the code :

Hi Mariot

Thanks. In case you are not aware, under
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=279638 I'm developing an
Acceleo template for direct OCL to Java generation which you may want to
leverage. Early performance results in
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=341944 suggest that in
addition to eliminating the compilation cost at run-time, there may be a
twenty fold speed improvement when comparing equivalent functionality.
The template exploits the modelled standard library, so should extend
naturally to any extended OCL that defines an extended standard library
model.

Regards

Ed Willink
