JSF Support in JSP Editor [message #71119] Wed, 02 February 2005 19:16 Go to next message

I didn't see this on the roadmap anywhere. Even if it just recognized EL
expressions, that would be huge. If someone could point me to that
part of the code, I'd be happy to look at doing that. Would think that
you would just have to parse the expression, get the name of the class
from the faces-config, then wire it into completion code that already
exists. Actually, that isn't going to work because in JSF EL, you do
bean.attr and JSF adds the get in front. Anyway, probably doable
nonetheless.

Since EL is part of JSP 2.0, it is in our plan, albeit at a Low
priority. Providing highlighting and content assist for EL is
likely not something we'll get to in M3. Keep an eye on
http://www.eclipse.org/webtools/development/milestone_plans/ reports/report-milestone-overview.html.

Rob,
We're still working on opening up our highlighting and content
assist so that it's easy for others to tap into them, but we could
use whatever sample files you can provide. EL's pretty new apart
from JSF and we don't have many tests cases for it, so far.

You just want some JSP files that have JSF EL expressions in them? Where
should I send them?

You can send them to me for now. We're still working on defining a
clean way for adding in custom highlighting and content assist.
