Hi,
Im new to the web tools platform and I wish to understand how the new server
wizard works.
In the "Servers" view, when I do "New/Server", I should specify the host
where I want to publish. Modifiying this hostname refreshes the server types
list. If I type "localhost" or "lilian" (machine name) or "127.0.0.1" or
"192.168.0.2" (machine ip) or "lilian.mydyndns.org" (dyndns account for
dynamic ip redirection, used for several webapps under tomcat 5), the server
types list contains "All/Generic server support" and "Apache/Tomcat v..."
but if I type another host name, the list is empty.
How does this work ? Where does the wizard look for host names ? I suppose
localhost and 127.0.0.1 work always and 192.168.0.2 and lilian work because
its my ip and machine name, but if "lilian.mydyndns.org" works, why
"mydata.myserver.com" doesnt work ?
I tried to add "mydata.myserver.com" in my /etc/hosts file, under
"lilian.mydyndns.org" with no better result.
Thank you for your help
Lilian
